Single Capacitor

A single run capacitor contains one capacitor inside the casing and uses two electrical terminals. It is designed to support one motor or electrical component.

This differs from a dual run capacitor, which combines two capacitors into one casing. Dual run capacitors have three terminals — C (Common), HERM (Compressor), and FAN — allowing one capacitor to support both the compressor and condenser fan motor.
